Stitched squares are 12" x 12" and include a 3" mat. The works retail for $42.00 each for those that are matted, backed and sleeved in archival plastic and $75.00 each for prints that are framed in regular glass and 1" black molding. Pricing is standardized, but some galleries that market these prints may choose non-standard framing and may adjust their pricing accordingly.
Clicking on the thumbnail images below will access enlarged views. The enlarged views will show the subject matter and texture, but they will not show the final stitching. When completed, all prints are individually stitched, titled, and signed, as in the "Mountain Reverie" example above.
Kay's "Stitched Squares" combine digital imagery in a layered collage effect. A final linen texture layer is added to the design, then the prints are stitched with gold thread around the perimeters. The resulting effect is that of a modern quilt square with traditional reminiscences. The prints are presented in a final 12" x 12" format that includes a 3" mat. The example on the right illustrates how different scenes and subjects are combined in Kay's work.
